SQL 2008 64bit Enterprise Edition 10.0.1600.22 Version

I'm trying to install SharePoint 2010. When configuring the farm servers, I'm getting asked to enter the server db name; when I enetered it, an error prompts arguing that the SQL version installed is not supported.
I downloaded the cumulative update 2 sp1, but when installing it, another error message is displayed: "the SQL version installed is 10.0.1600.22 and the SQL version required for the update is: 10.1.2531.0".

To resolve this

It is recommended to have installed SQL Server 2008 SP1 CU2, CU5 or later, before installing SharePoint Server 2010.

You have at this time build 10.0.1600.22 which is SQL Server 2008 RTM.

Please download and install SP1 first.

After installing SP1, please download and install CU7 for SQL Server 2008 SP1:

Hope this helps.
